2009 HRS Hotel Excellence Awards

On behalf of HRS and our industry partners I would like to thank all those hotels that took part in the second annual HRS Hotel Excellence Awards.

In our second year we were delighted that the number of hotels taking part increased by over 40%, with the standard of entries remaining consistently high.

The winners of the 2009 HRS Hotel Excellence Awards were announced at a presentation ceremony held at One Whitehall Place in London on 28th January 2009.

To learn more about the finalists and winners please go to the 2009 Winners & Finalists page.

Here you can read the individual hotel case studies and learn what they did to improve their hotel's performance in the following areas;

  • Giving guests a better service
  • Helping employees to work smarter not harder
  • Supporting the local economy and environment
  • Marketing their hotel more successfully
  • Managing their business better
  • Providing excellence in their meetings business
Grant Appleton, Commercial Director

We launched the HRS Hotel Excellence Awards because we believe it is important to celebrate hotels that have successfully introduced innovative ideas and achieved an outstanding and measurable improvement to their hotel's business.

By recognising best practice in hotels of all sizes we believe the HRS Hotel Excellence Awards will continue to encourage other hotels to adopt similar initiatives to improve their business. Thereby making a real contribution to the success and profitability of hotels throughout the UK.

I would encourage all hotels, whether you have 10 rooms or 250, or are an independent or group hotel to take part in 2010. To register your interest and receive details of next year's awards as soon as they are available please click here.
